With solar eclipses at the heart of cruising talk, it has just been revealed that Bonnie Tyler will belt out Total Eclipse Of The Heart in light of it all.
The week-long Total Eclipse Cruise to the eastern Caribbean has added a live performance from the 80’s singer before Oasis of the Seas sails into the path of totality.
Tyler will perform her 1983 hit with American rock-dance band DNCE in the ship’s AquaTheater about an hour before the eclipse, and the ship will experience the few minutes of darkness midday to early afternoon Monday when it is roughly 200 miles off the coast of Florida.
The cruise aboard Royal’s mega ship sails Sunday from Orlando and after the eclipse, the cruise will make stops at Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Nassau, Bahamas, before returning to Orlando.
The eclipse will begin around 8:45 a.m. Monday in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Oregon and will then travel across the U.S; a 70-mile-wide band of the country is in the path of totality, that is, places that will experience the darkness of a total solar eclipse.
There are still cabins available; prices start at $3,676 per person for an inside cabin, plus $111 in cruise and port fees.
Azmara is another brand centering a sailing around an awe-inspiring event with its annual solar eclipse cruise, now on sale for 2019.
Guests will begin by flying to Dubai to indulge in a two-night stay at a five star hotel before embarking Azamara Quest; the solar eclipse will occur on day 13th of the special itinerary before heading to Bombay (India) for a two-night stay in yet another 5 star hotel.
