P&O Cruises have been a favourite for British passengers since they began way back in the 1850s. They have 8 ships within their fleet and have a legion of loyal fans through their attention to the needs of their passengers and a focus on comfort. So here are our 10 reasons why you should book with P&O Cruises…
1 – Launch of Iona
Iona will make her debut from Southampton on May 14th 2020, carrying 5,200 passengers and 1,800 crew members. P&O Cruises will be debuting some firsts at sea, from the Ocean Studios (a premium cinema experience) to the 710 Club (a secret haven exclusive for adults and the Salcombe Gin Distillery). She will be the largest ship ever built for the British market and will have a wide range of home comforts, in the hallmark luxury expected from P&O Cruises.
2 – Strictly Come Dancing
The glitz and glamour of Strictly Come Dancing will be gracing P&O Cruises once again. The unique Strictly experience will include an intimate adults-only supper club hosted by a Strictly star and private one-to-one dance lessons with live displays from the pros. This Strictly Come Dancing exclusive experience will be available on four seven-night Norwegian Fjords sailings in August 2020.
3 – Afternoon Tea
Enjoy the ultimate daytime indulgence with a twist. Eric Lanlard’s Afternoon Tea is one of the onboard experiences not to be missed. The master pâtissier has elevated the humble British tradition into an utterly decadent experience. A range of savoury and sweet treats adorn the cakestand, all served with a wide range of teas to suit any taste.
4 – Kids Clubs
There is no shortage of kids clubs and activities to keep the whole family happy onboard their ships. All five onboard clubs are completely free and staffed by fully qualified Reef Rangers that lead educational programmes, entertainment sessions and activities. The complimentary ‘Night Nursey’ is available to all ages and is open from 6pm to 2am, allowing parents to explore all nightlife on offer. Located in a quiet area of the ship, parents can be directly contacted via pager service giving complete peace of mind.
5 – Shuttle Busses
When in port you want to spend every minute of your time ashore, P&O help that happen. From pre-booked excursions to freely exploring your destination, P&O Cruises offer complimentary shuttle buses from port to your destination. Excluding Early Saver and Late Saver, in this case, the charge is minimal.
6 – Special Events
There isn’t a dull moment on a P&O Cruises. Daily events range from movies played at Ocean Studios, dance and fitness classes, cookery clubs and quizzes. At nighttime the fun doesn’t stop, there will be Black Tie evenings with five-course Gala menus, deck parties, themed nights and deck barbeques.
7 – Music Festival at Sea
Hosted by well-known radio and television personalities with a team of renowned artists the Music Festival at Sea offers the chance to experience opera, operetta, evening recitals, music quizzes and interviews.
8 – Food Heros
P&O Cruises are known for quality and this is reflected in their dining. You’ve probably heard of their famous Food Heros: the chefs that sit amongst the brightest lights of the British culinary scene. Marco Pierre White, Olly Smith and Eric Lanlard bring food and wine that celebrates Great British and global traditions to your P&O Cruises cruise.
9 – Destinations
Anywhere you could dream of visiting, P&O Cruises can take you there in style. Discover paradise in the Caribbean, explore the worlds most modern city in Dubai or visit one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth at the Norwegian Fjords. From cruises of 2 nights or 20, you can see the world on a P&O Cruises cruise.
10 – Drinks Packages
Cocktail or tea, whatever your prefered tipple, P&O Cruises have the drinks package for you. There is a choice from four drinks packages available on all P&O Cruises ships ranging from just £8 to £39. Whichever package you choose, you can make the most of them at any of P&O Cruises boutique bars or relaxed coffee spots.
