Fans of Oceania Cruises will be pleased to hear of a new deal agreed with Fincantieri to build two new ships. The two 67,000 gross ton vessels will be delivered in 2022 and 2025, accommodating 1,200 passengers. Both of the new additions will be a part of a brand new class, the Allura class, and the contract price for both is approximately €575 million per ship. A Christmas Miracle As Royal Caribbean Save Stranded Fishermen At Sea!

Two fishermen were stranded at sea for twenty days until Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas came to their rescue. Both males from Costa Rica allegedly fell asleep whilst soaking their nets on December 1st so the Royal ship’s encounter with the pair has been named a miracle. The men’s vessel was pulled off course by strong winds with only enough food and water for seven days; they had also ran out of fuel as they tried to find their nets and began to run adrift. Carnival Just Upped The Gratuity Charge On Drinks: Here’s What You Should Know

Carnival Cruises has just announced that passengers sailing onboard the fleet will now see an 18% gratuity charge on their bar tabs. The line has made the decision to increase its drink gratuities by 3% (up from 15%), and the change applies to both individual purchases and the all-inclusive Cheers and Bottomless Bubbles beverage packages. The increase comes just weeks after Carnival raised its general gratuities by $1 to $2 (depending on the stateroom). Going, Going, Gone! Your Bidding War With Royal Caribbean Has Just Begun

As of today, Royal Caribbean cruisers will have the opportunity to bid on an upgrade to a higher cabin category. The programme is called “Royal Up” and will only be available on select sailings. When it is available, passengers booked on the sailing will receive an email notification for the chance to browse through a list of staterooms available for an upgrade. NCL Is About To Test Out New Enhanced Passenger Experience Technology

Norwegian Cruise Line is one step closer to enhancing its passenger experience through the use of wearable technology. The line is about to begin the phased implementation of yet-to-be-revealed “preliminary elements” onboard Norwegian Bliss in late 2018. The first NCL fans heard of the line’s new technology platform was back in May 2018 after the line partnered up with U.S.-based software development company DeCurtis Corporation on a new project called Cruise Freedom.
