Independence of the Seas seized by bailiffs!

You might think that a global company the size of Royal Caribbean is good at paying its fees, but it turns out that even having a whole accounting department isn’t enough to stop a few things from falling through the cracks. The forgotten fees in question? A relatively small 600,000 Norwegian kroners (approximately £60,000) in pilot fees that was supposed to be paid in October. But Royal Caribbean is unlikely to be making the same mistake again. In fact, the Norwegian authorities have made sure that they’re at the top of the agenda for the cruise line, by impounding one of the world’s largest cruise ships. Around 400 people drown in the UK every year and the RLSS UK aims to prevent drowning through water safety education.   Controversy in the Cruise Industry Pool side safety has been a controversial topic in the cruise industry for a while now. Over the last year or so there have been numerous incidents with children being hurt or killed in cruise line swimming pools where, arguably, a life guard could have helped –   In May this year a six year old boy nearly drowned on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas and had to be airlifted to a French hospital. (you can see the full story here – http://www.cruise.co.uk/forum/767-chit-chat/41442-british-boy-drowns-independence-seas.html) A four year old was brain damaged after nearly drowning on the Disney Magic in March...
