The Official Cruisers Guide To The Royal Wedding: The Real Contenders For The Big Day

The royal affair everybody is talking about is mere days away and so many questions are on every cruisers’ lips.

What will Meghan Markle’s dress be like? Who will be the most famous in attendance? Will it match up to Will and Kate’s memorable day? Will it run smoothly or will something go wrong?

All will be revealed in just four days but one thing we are definitely sure of is where exactly every cruiser will be watching. There’s some serious competition for which cruise line’s celebrations will be the biggest and the best.

Here’s your official cruising guide to the royal wedding…

Princess

With the Duchess of Cambridge as Godmother to Royal Princess, cruisers have high expectations for Princess’ royal celebrations

Passengers onboard have a lot to look forward to including:

-Live screenings of the Royal Wedding on the top-deck movie screens and in bars and lounges on 17 of the line’s ships

-Onboard parties

-Themed menus

-Royal-related trivia quizzes

Cruise & Maritime

Proud to be British, the traditional line are keeping to their home-away-from-home approach but with a glamorous touch for the royal event

Guests onboard CMV will be celebrating with the following:

-Live screenings of the Royal Wedding on the line’s Columbus, Magellan and Marco Polo ships

-British deck party, complete with afternoon tea

-A nighttime ’60s dance party, featuring popular British songs from that era

-Royal trivia quizzes

-Food and drinks with a Royal Wedding theme

-Sparkling wine with dinner

Cunard

Strong ties with the Royal family, Cunard is a serious contender for which line will honour one of the biggest events of the year

Cunard fans onboard the three queens can look forward to:

-Screening of the Royal Wedding

-Royal Wedding afternoon tea with specially created cakes including the Union Jack Butterfly, Chocolate Crown and Victoria Wedding Cake along with traditional finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and jams

-Celebration cocktails including the Princess Bride, The King’s Steed, American Beauty, Midnight Over the Atlantic and P.S. I Love You

-Commemorative dinner and keepsake menu in the main dining rooms

-Celebration cake- modelled after the bride and groom’s- made of lemon and elderflower to be served in each of the restaurants

-Champagne at dinner

P&O will also be hosting royal celebrations onboard this coming Saturday with live screenings of the wedding across the entire fleet.
