What To Expect On Seabourn Odyssey’s Farewell Voyage

Seabourn has revealed a host of incredible entertainment and activities to be featured onboard Seabourn Odyssey‘s Farewell Voyage.

After 15 years of service, Seabourn Odyssey will set sail for one final time on 2nd September 2024 for its 22-day Farewell Voyage from Seattle (Washington) to Yokohama (Japan).`

During this one-of-a-kind voyage guests can expect memorable tributes to the ship’s greatest moments, including appearances from original team members, incredible local artists, plus unique gifts and memories to be made with the Seabourn family.

Original crew members, John Barron and Handré Potgieter, will return as cruise directors for Seabourn Odyssey‘s final voyage, who were both part of the onboard team when the ship first launched in 2009. Alongside them, Seabourn President Natalya Leahy will also be onboard in Seattle to personally wish farewell to guests and crew as they embark on the special cruise.

“Returning as cruise director for Seabourn Odyssey‘s Farewell Voyage is a heartfelt journey for me, filled with memories of her inception in the shipyard, the exhilaration of her maiden voyage, and the joy of witnessing guests embark on her for the first time. I’m thrilled to co-host this voyage with my dear friend Handré. We will celebrate 15 years of unforgettable moments, friendships, and the legacy Seabourn Odyssey leaves behind. This final voyage promises to be a magical ‘full circle’ experience, brimming with emotion and sweet surprises, as we bid farewell to our beloved ship.”


John Barron, Seabourn Odyssey’s first cruise director

Over the course of the 22-day sailing, Seabourn Odyssey will visit 11 ports and destinations, including five in Japan. Within this itinerary, the ship will traverse the glacial scenery of Alaska, visit the wildlife havens of Kodiak Island and Dutch Harbour, and explore the cultural enclaves of Japan’s Hokkaido Island- revelling in the first turn of fall foliage.

Highlights of special entertainment and activities onboard Seabourn Odyssey‘s Farewell Voyage will include:

Belinda King of Belinda King Creative Productions

As founder and CEO of Belinda King Creative Productions, which produces the finest shows at sea, Belinda will join Seabourn’s cruise directors for this special voyage. She will also host a Seabourn Conversation Q&A, delving into “The World Behind Seabourn Entertainment”.

Bespoke Acts by Guest Performers

Appearing onboard the sailing will be a number of guest performers, including piano entertainer Roy Tan and vocalist Corlea Botha; magician Mark Haslam; cellist Andre Cavassi; pianist Aisa Ijiri; and violinist Irina Guskova.

Seabourn Conversation Speakers

Distinguished guest speakers will feature on the line up of the Seabourn Conversations programme onboard Seabourn Odyssey. These will include NASA Astronaut Heidemarie Piper; award-winning photographer Michael Yamashita; author and chef Maria Finn; marine scientist Dr. Dave Plourd; and maritime historian Dr. Tim Runyan.

Artist in Residence Programme

Guests onboard Seabourn Odyssey‘s Farewell Voyage will be invited to join artist, Donna Lewis, for complimentary Artist in Residence mixed media classes, inspired by ports visited by the ship. The classes will be open to all ages and levels of experience, and materials will be provided onboard.

During her 15 years of service at the cruise line, Seabourn Odyssey, has welcomed 180,454 guests onboard and sailed to 426 different ports. Of course, the ship has also become synonymous with ultra-luxury along the way; serving up to four tons of caviar and pouring over 30,000 bottles of champagne!
