Royal Caribbean Remove The Need For Vaccination Documents

Royal Caribbean has recently announced changes to their health and safety protocols around Covid-19. Their updates apply to cruises departing from the following ports:

Cruises departing from a European home port
Cruises departing from Los Angeles, California
Cruises departing from Galveston, Texas
Cruises departing from New Orleans, Louisiana

For itineraries from the above ports, that commence on 5 September 2022, or later, it is recommended that guests are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if they are eligible. While vaccination documents will not be required to board sailings departing from home ports in Europe or the above U.S. ports, they will however ask that guests disclose their vaccination status to them during check-in.

They also recommend that guests bring vaccination documentation with them in case authorities or local businesses in a destination request to see it.

Royal Caribbean went on to say:

For the best European cruise experience, we strongly recommend guests be ‘up to date’ on their COVID-19 vaccination per the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Some of the destinations will require this for guests to go ashore. Those who do not meet these requirements may require additional testing onboard prior to going ashore in certain ports.
