Norwegian Cruise Line Moves To End Speciality Dining

Cover charges be gone – Norwegian Cruise Line is going a la carte fleetwide! With a la carte dining you can now order meals, starters, sides, etc. and pay per-item, as opposed to having a set meal plan that you pay for to begin with. Instead of the usual cover charges, most of NCL’s restaurants will be going with the a la carte model from now on, with exceptions including Moderno Churrascaria and Teppanyaki, which will both retain their cover charges, currently priced at $19.95 and $29.95 respectively. The other restaurants which retain the cover charge are entertainment dining venues, such as Wine Lovers the Musical, For The Record: The Brat Pack and The Illusionarium. NCL will roll out the change on January 1st 2016, except for Ocean Blue aboard Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, which will make the switch in October. Anyone who opts to purchase a Norwegian Speciality Dining Package can enjoy meals from La Cucina, Le Bistro and Cagney’s and no additional charge. Meanwhile main dining rooms, the buffet, O’Sheehan’s and all Asian venues (excluding Teppanyaki and Wasabi) will remain complimentary. What do you think? We love anything that gives cruisers more options, but we understand this change might not please everyone! Leave your comments in the box...
