Carnival Reveals More Details On New Ship, Carnival Venezia

Family-friendly cruise line Carnival has released new details on the amenities, facilities and new accommodations to expect onboard their new ship, Carnival Venezia!

The first Carnival Fun Italian Style ship Carnival Venezia will launch in spring 2023, sailing year-round from its New York homeport operating 22 itineraries to 25 ports including in Canada, Bermuda, New England, and the Caribbean, among other locations.

Carnival Venezia, which will be able to carry more than 4,000 passengers, will have all the fun-filled bells and whistles Carnival ships are infamous for, as well as feature classic Italian styling and architecture.

Carnival Fun Italian Style is a new take on our recipe for creating memorable Carnival cruises, but certainly, fun will still be at the heart of everything we do on board.

Guests will feel right at home on Carnival Venezia, with our friendly team members and many familiar venues and experiences on board, but the addition of several creative new concepts from dining and beverage to entertainment will surely offer some new favorites and further enhance the ship’s Italian theming.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line

Beautiful Italian design starts in the ship’s atrium, which has taken inspiration from Venice’s iconic main public square the Piazza San Marco. Elsewhere, the ship’s Lido Deck onboard will be modelled after the Italian Riviera and will feature a retractable roof and pool to enjoy in rain or shine.

Carnival’s adults-only oasis, The Serenity, will be situated on the top deck of the ship and be equipped with a brand-new bar serving spritzes, as well as sun beds, two whirlpools and leisurely lounging furniture.

Carnival Venezia will also be home to a totally new set of accommodations, named Terrazza staterooms.

Terrazza cabins, which will be somewhat similar to popular Havana staterooms, will be located on the aft of Carnival Venezia on decks five to nine and will all have access to outdoor deck Terrazza Carnevale, a soothing escape from the main hubbub of the ship with its own whirlpools and bar.

Additionally, guests staying in one of these 77 cabins will have their own Terrazza exclusive robes and towels, special brunch on select sea days, a unique sail-away event, plus access to Carnivale Lounge in the mornings for a tasty complimentary breakfast.

There will be three types of Terrazza staterooms available: interior, balcony and Terrazza Cabanas. Cabanas will have their own private patios, a hammock, loungers plus direct access to the Terrazza Carnevale deck.

Alongside the new accommodations, Carnival has also added mini-bars and American power outlets to other cabins onboard.

For foodies, fan-favourite Carnival food and beverage venues will also be found onboard Carnival Venezia, including steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki and the Chef’s Table, along with Lido Marketplace, Seafood Shack and Pizzeria del Capitano, Piano Bar 88 and Heroes Tribute Lounge.

In addition to these Carnival mainstays, many other delicious dining options will have a range of updated menu items and features, such as at Guy’s Burger Joint, whereby Italian ingredients will be used to give popular items a distinctly Italian flair – including burgers drenched in melted mozzarella and a new pepperoni pizza burger.

Elsewhere, the Canal Grande and Marco Polo restaurants will have new Italian sculptures, a Venetian gondola feature and serve up signature dishes from Carnival’s Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant, and Mexitalian fusion restaurant Tomodoro will dish up juicy, traditional Italian meatballs and sensational Sicilian chicken as well as mouthwatering Mexican burritos and tacos.

Carnival have also hinted that a brand-new speciality Italian dining concept is in the works for Carnival Venezia and will be revealed very soon!

For those who love an expertly crafted cocktail, you’ll be in luck onboard Carnival Venezia. Expert mixologists will be shaking and stirring Amalfi martinis, Sbagliatos and more at Amari, an interactive bar experience similar to the popular Alchemy bars which can be found on other Carnival ships.

Bellinis, spritzes, Italian beers, coffee and biscotti will be available at Frizzante, fine wines and classic cocktails accompanied by live music will be found at the cool Carnevale Bar and Lounge, and colourful frozen drinks, margaritas, daiquiris and piña coladas will be served at the lively Rococó bar.

At the epicentre of the Fun Italian Style ship Carnival Venezia will be an epic assortment of entertainment. The ship will feature brand-new indie rock and pop love story show Color My World, an artistic, visually appealing performance which made its debut on Carnival Celebration in November.

You can expect plenty of Carnival popular parties onboard too, such as the Captain’s Venetian Toast and Italian Street Party, and spectacular Playlist Productions shows, including Broadway Beats and Vintage Pop. Outstanding productions will be staged in the ship’s elegant theatre, Teatro Rosso.

Outdoors on Carnival Venezia, there will be a SportsSquare onboard, alongside a ropes course, a water park with three exhilarating waterslides, a splash park for young children, a mini golf course and a jogging track.

After her grand unveiling in 2023, Carnival Venezia will be joined by Carnival Firenze in 2024, the second Carnival Fun Italian Style ship, which will sail out of Long Beach in sunny California year-round.
