Cruisers Are Outraged As Gratuities Are On The Rise Again

It has just been confirmed that Holland America Line have increased their gratuity amounts. HAL guests will see the increase from May 1st 2017 and the amount will rise 8%, from $12.50 to $13.50 a day. The recommended rate for suite guests will rise from $13.50 to $15 (an 11% increase). The cruise line last increased their gratuities in December 2015. The gratuity is automatically added to a passenger’s account but can be altered by visiting guest services. Oprah Steps Onboard Ship For Adventure Of Your Life

Holland America Line has just revealed it is bringing a major partner onboard with them. The line has just partnered with O, The Oprah Magazine to sail five “Adventure of Your Life” sailings. It will bring O Magazine-inspired activities aboard and offer guests the chance to interact with the magazine’s figureheads and members of its SuperSoul 100 list of leaders, entrepreneurs and influencers “who are using their voices and talent to elevate humanity.” Oprah Winfrey herself will be onboard for the first sailing to Alaska in March, plus O Magazine’s editor at large Gayle King, editor in chief Lucy Kaylin...

Princess Announce Their Most Technologically Advanced Cruise Ship Is Set To Launch

Princess Cruises has just announced it has placed an order for its sixth Royal Class vessel. Guests can expect the 3,560 guest ship to be delivered in 2022, but is still yet to be named. The next ship for the line will feature signature elements that have become synonymous with the Princess guest experience, such as a central atrium hub with multiple dining, entertainment and retail venues; Movies Under The Stars with the largest outdoor screen at sea; and 81% of all staterooms with balconies.
