Cruise Line Drastically Cut Air Fares Whilst British Line Exclusively Partners With Virgin

Celebrity Cruises has just announced that air fares will start from £99 to connect to the line’s fleet in the Mediterranean this summer. The prices became available on January 13th this year, although there is limited availability on the £99 flights. Other seats are available for up to £199 to join cruise ships sailing from Civitavecchia- the port of Rome- and Venice. First LGBT River Cruise To Launch In The UK

Emerald Waterways is to host the UK’s first Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) river cruise in a move to broaden its customer base and cater for an evergrowing segment of the travel market. The official announcement was made on the 10th of October this year on gay UK radio station, Gaydio, and was revealed as the LGBT Danube Explorer cruise. For the next week, Emerald Waterways will be offering lucky Gaydio listeners the chance to sail with a competition to win a place on the cruise. David Winterton, brand manager of Emerald Waterways, stated: ‘We are extremely proud and excited to announce this new cruise which isn’t only a first for the brand, but also in the UK too. Angry Venetians Protest Against Cruise Ships With Flares

Hundreds of protesters took to the water in Venice to voice their anger about the number of cruise ships visiting the port. Protesters carrying flares took to small boats to actually try and prevent several cruise ships from entering the lagoon. Many carried signs that criticised the presence of the ships.
