Escorted Yosemite National Park With The Grand Canyon, Death Valley & Las Vegas

Day 1

The first day of our West Coast adventure began with a flight from the UK to Las Vegas, USA. After arriving in this electric city, we were transferred from the airport to our 4* hotel- where we would be staying for the next three nights.

As would be expected, I was feeling quite jet-lagged from the long flight out, so retired to bed fairly soon after arriving.

Day 2

Today was jam-packed with thrilling sightseeing and exploring!

First on the list was the Grand Canyon, with a stop by Joshua Tree National Forest along the way; two distinct desert ecosystems with a fascinating array of surreal geological features, plants and animals in a land sculpted by strong winds and occasional rain.

The Grand Canyon was just, wow, even though this was my second time visiting the sensational National Park. On the way back, we also stopped to take a look at Hoover Dam- an incredible structure and the perfect opportunity to take some snaps of the breathtaking surroundings!

We arrived back at the hotel in the early evening, and I decided to take the monorail for some ‘hop on and off’ exploring in the lights of Las Vegas. After walking around in search of food for a while, I spotted Gordon Ramsey’s Fish and Chips shop so couldn’t resist stepping inside for a bite to eat.

With a full stomach, next, I checked out the Sphere and then hopped back on the monorail to explore Caesars Palace- getting lost in the sheer magnitude of the building for around 40 minutes until I finally found my way back out!

Finally, to round off the evening, a trip to Las Vegas wouldn’t be complete without a mandatory stop at the Bellagio for the famous water show. This exciting display features over a thousand fountains swaying in front of the iconic hotel, featuring music and bright lights.

Day 3

On the third day of our escorted West Coast trip, we travelled to Death Valley National Park, known for its striking landscapes. Steady drought and record-breaking summer heat make Death Valley a real land of extremes, contrasting to its towering peaks that are frosted with snow!

During our tour of Death Valley, we visited the salt flats at Badwater Basin- home to the lowest point in North America.

After visiting this surreal area of the world, on the way back, we managed to include a surprise stop at the Area 51 visitor centre (not featured in the itinerary for the package). Luckily, we managed to get some snaps with these extra-terrestrial creatures during our visit…

Day 4

Today we visited the beautiful Sequoia National Park where you can find huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, and the world’s largest trees. These trees truly are MASSIVE- bigger than anyone could ever imagine.

We visited the General Grant Grove within the park which was very impressive, and I even got a photo of myself inside a tree!

Day 5

The final stop on our escorted trip today was the highly anticipated Yosemite National Park. This was purely stunning; natural beauty at its finest. I stood there in silence for a while simply taking it all in.

The incredible park filled with wildlife and jaw-dropping landscapes features the iconic Tunnel View, Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, The Half Dome, plus North America’s tallest waterfall. But be careful when exploring the forests- I got lost and had to rely on my Bear Grylls skills to find my way back as everything starts to look the same after a while!

Day 6

After checking out of our hotel, this morning we were transferred to the cruise port for midday. Once we arrived, the guests on this trip boarded their ship, ready for the cruise element of their package to begin.

This was my cue to head to the airport for my flight back to the UK later that day, reminiscing on this incredible adventure!

These escorted tours are all part of our 14-night Tailor Made cruise & stay package: Escorted Yosemite National Park With The Grand Canyon, Death Valley. This unforgettable package features a 7-day escorted tour of Western USA, followed a 7-night cruise along the Californian Coast.
