An Introduction To Virgin Voyages: Modern Adults-Only Cruising

Virgin Voyages offers a sophisticated yet relaxed adults-only experience free of formality. Guests onboard can enjoy the glamour of a boutique hotel on the ocean blended with unmistakable Virgin style and service.

Say goodbye to buffet restaurants, dress codes and fixed dining times and say hello to a holiday on your terms with an exceptional range of amenities included in the price of your cruise fare with Virgin Voyages, including Wi-Fi, fitness classes, tips, dining at all onboard restaurants (yes, ALL of them!), essential drinks and contemporary entertainment.

If you’re searching for a bit of a different cruise experience – Virgin Voyages is for you! In this blog, we lay out everything you need to know about one of the latest, and perhaps coolest, cruise lines at sea, and what you can expect cruising with Virgin Voyages.

Meet The Fleet

Virgin Voyages has four ships within its fleet; Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and the yet-to-be-debuted Brilliant Lady (arriving in 2024). All ships are 278m in length, are 110,000 gross tons and feature a range of stylish and slick venues on board to delight passengers.

Cabins

Modern, yacht-inspired aesthetic and clever cabin technology make for more than just a space to live (or sleep). The cabins and suites onboard Virgin Voyages are places to escape and retreat from the world.

Cabins onboard can be transformed at the touch of a button with mood-matching lighting, a configurable bed and in-cabin tech to make guests’ lives easier.

Mega Rockstar Quarters

The very best place to stay on a Virgin Voyages cruise is in one of the brand’s Mega Rockstar Quarters. These unbelievably lavish cabins have their own massive terraces, king-sized beds, decadent marbled Peek-A-Boo showers and some even have private hot tubs and suave music rooms.

There are four kinds of Mega Rockstar Quarters to choose from: Massive Suite, Fab Suite, Posh Suite and Gorgeous Suites.

Alongside absolutely incredible accommodations, Mega Rockstar Quarters guests have their own daily bar tab, access to the spa, private transfers to and from the ship, a bottomless in-room bar and a dedicated Mega Rockstar Agent.

RockStar Quarters

RockStar Quarters are where superyachts meet luxury cruises along with rock and roll royalty. Accents of brass and slabs of marble guide you to spacious stargazing terraces, and every detail of these suites is expertly crafted for the ultimate holiday experience at sea.

There are four kinds of Rockstar Quarters to choose from: Brilliant Suite, Cheeky Corner Suite, Seriously Suite and Sweet Aft Suite.

Rockstar Quarter guests will be treated to their very own sumptuous suite, plus access to an exclusive panoramic sundeck – nicknamed Richard’s Rooftop – curated in-room bar, early booing and priority access, plus access to RockStar onboard agents, a team of staff dedicated to guests staying in these accommodations.

Sea Terrace

Looking for a room with a dazzling view? Virgin Voyage’s Sea Terrace cabins are oases of calm, featuring their own gorgeous terraces – which come with terrace hammocks – mood lighting, and bags of storage space, ideal for avid cruisers searching for roomy, light and bright accommodations at sea.

There are four kinds of Sea Terrace cabins to choose from, including Central Sea Terrace, Limited View Sea Terrace, The Sea Terrace and XL Sea Terrace.

Sea View

Sea View accommodations are cosy rooms with a view, kitted out with superb cosy and comfortable beds, storage space for all those holiday essentials, a sparkling private bathroom, and a cute port hole to view the glistening sea waters.

Perfect for couples, friends, and singles, there are just two Sea View cabins to choose from: Solo Sea View and Sea View.

Insider

Passengers looking for an efficient space to rest their tired heads after an exciting day at sea will love Virgin Voyage’s Insider cabins. These modern accommodations are well-equipped and well-decorated, featuring comfy beds, reactive mood lighting and a small vanity area.

Great for solos, cruise bargain hunters or groups of friends, there are three types of insider cabins to choose from: Social Insider, Solo Insider, and The Insider.

Dining

Pairing fresh ingredients and vibrant flavours with ever-evolving ways to experience food, Virgin Voyages has elevated its menus, with the help of Michelin-starred chefs, and diversified its eating experiences while minimising waste by only cooking what’s been ordered.

On board a Virgin Voyages cruise, you can expect to dine at more than 20 tasty eateries, each with their own distinct vibe and style of gastronomy. Here’s a taste of just some of the delicious eating establishments on offer…

The Wake

The perfect mix of sophistication, nostalgia and cool – entering The Wake is an event in itself. Guests will feel like they’ve stumbled onto a glitz & glam movie as soon as they see the grand staircase! Expect to taste beautifully crafted dishes and indulge in fresh, modern cooking.

Pink Agave

Inspired by the vibrant, colourful streets of Mexico, guests are treated to a menu reflecting the region’s emerging culinary renaissance. Pink Agave is Virgin Voyages’ tribute to sophisticated Mexican Cuisine and home to their impressive mezcal and tequila collection.

Razzle Dazzle

One of their most unique offerings onboard, Razzle Dazzle Restaurant is a veggie-forward eatery delivering flavour sensations at every turn. Guests can choose from one side that skews towards plant-based vegetarian and vegan dishes including must-have munchies such as the Impossible Burger, or more indulgent morsels.

The Test Kitchen

The Test Kitchen is the most unique, innovative, and experimental dining experience on a Virgin Voyages ship. The tasting menu is presented in the form of an ingredient list where guests put their trust in their expert chefs to make the decisions. It’s educational, experiential and delicious.

Gunbae

If you’re into hands-on meat-grilling and soju drinking, the Korean BBQ is the perfect spot.  Guests have the option to choose from meats, seafood, vegetables, or all of the above when they’re ready to start grilling and their crew will be on hand to help.

Entertainment

Never Sleep Alone event at The Manor The Manor

Do not expect traditional cruise ship entertainment on a Virgin Voyages cruise – instead expect exhilarating, contemporary and immersive entertainment developed by acclaimed artists.

Here’s a quick peek at some of Virgin Voyage’s glittering entertainment venues…

The Manor

This super slick two-storey space, named after Richard’s first recording studio, is inspired by the coolest clubs on land and oozes a 70s punk vibe. The Manor hosts a ground-breaking, immersive dining entertainment experience, to kick the night off before it transitions into a mind-blowing, goodbye-early-morning-workout nightclub.

The Red Room

There’s a lot that’s special about The Red Room. It’s the first transformational theatre at sea, featuring different modes which enable a variety of unique and engaging experiences.

The Groupie

No late-night outing is complete without some serious karaoke. Virgin Voyages have put their own spin on traditional cruise karaoke by designing Korean-style Karaoke Rooms. Bold, vibrant spaces that encourage intense, high-energy fun for their guests.

Wellness

Expect a Virgin-style approach to cruise spa and fitness programming. Whether guests are into high-intensity workouts, finding inner zen, or if they are that person who pays for a gym membership but never uses it – Virgin Voyages provides spaces to care for themselves in whichever way works best for them.

Let’s take a look at the variety of wellness and fitness spaces onboard a Virgin Voyage…

Build & Balance

It’s all about balance at the gym dedicated to weights, stretching, core exercises and a yoga studio that offers a wide range of free group fitness classes. The state-of-the-art equipment allows you to use the very best in fitness equipment, and personal training sessions are available if Sailors are looking for one-on-one attention.

Training Camp

The Training Camp is where guests can take one of the many complimentary group fitness classes. From gravity-defying bungee classes to HIIT and breathing classes, fitness classes come in all shapes and sizes. And if guests would like to try classes on their own, they can follow along on one of the Fitness on Demand apps.

The Athletic Club

Designed with the aesthetic of athletic social clubs of the past, The Athletic Club incorporates not just an active Training Camp and boxing classes, but also a full-on basketball court and adult-sized seasaws.

The Perch

Nestled on the very tippy top of Deck 17 – right above The Athletic Club – guests can indulge in this serene outdoor space devoted to the pursuit of Vitamin Sea. Guests can start their day at sunrise with yoga and during the day, The Perch acts as a guest’s sun haven – with cold water buckets hanging out and waiting for them to pull the rope and drench themselves with a refreshing, homemade waterfall.

The Runway

The ship’s 250-meter-long, elevated, signature red running track forms a halo-like vision over the ship. Perfect for guests who want to sweat, strut or skate while breathing in the salty air and feeling the sea mist.

Redemption Spa

The award-winning Redemption Spa serves as a mermaid and merman hideaway with a thermal suite complete with a hydrotherapy pool, mud room, steam room, salt room, cold plunge pools and quartz beds. By night, guests can complete their well-being journey by attending Virgin Voyages’ take on the famous Swiss Aufguss ritual (’Aufguss’ meaning ‘infusion’), where they transform the spa’s thermal suite into a sound-based sensory experience.

Aquatic Club

Virgin Voyages has created a pool deck that feels like a contemporary yacht. Whether guests are looking to catch some rays on daybeds or let last night’s choices melt away in the pool, they can detox and recover or carry on with a cocktail or two.
