Carnival Cruise Line Remove Complimentary Room Service

Carnival Cruise Line Remove Complimentary Room Service

Carnival Cruise Line have just announced that they will no longer be offering free room service to guests onboard.

The complimentary room service will be removed in mid-January across the fleet, when all in-cabin orders will become a la carte besides the continental breakfast which will remain free of charge.

The new room service menu will offer an array of items to satisfy your cravings including sandwiches, pizza, salads and desserts.

You’ll be able to order these at lunch, dinner and late at night, costing between $2-$5 for an item.

John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador, said “Over the last several years, we have heavily invested in bringing more variety to our complimentary food choices across our fleet.”

“This new pricing structure positions Carnival on par with similar charges by other cruise operators in the contemporary market.”

This isn’t the first time Carnival have made a change to their room service menu in an attempt to reduce food waste.

In January 2018, Carnival announced that they would no longer be offering free room service between 10pm-6am, charging passengers for room service ordered during these hours.

What do you think of being charged for room service? Would this put you off ordering? Do you think it will help reduce food waste in the long run? Leave us your comments below…
