If you click on Cruise Reviews (big orange button) you can read reviews - they all seem to be 4 or 5* that I can see. The 'grub' as you call it is the same menu on all RCI ships and 'grub' is a very subjective matter. You never go hungry or loose weight on a cruise ship. The itinerary is fantastic. She is a nice size.

It's been a few years since I was on Splendour but we were all impressed. Family & friends have been on her a couple of times in the past 18 months & were very happy with the ship & the food. As A of N said , read the reviews, most give four or five stars, just run with the majority is my conclusion.

Forgot to say Splendour is one of my favorite ships, just the right size, nicely laid out and the cabins are very nice. She is getting a little older now, aren't we all, but it is a lovely ship. Had a really bad embarkation last April, took about 6 hours, all down to RCI, not Splendour. Once I was aboard loved her again. Got rather angry in the queue. No organization. Go on Splendour anytime if the ittinery(sp) is right.

Bowker - Answered a Question by mclean (06 Nov 08 11:39)

Hello, we were also in Lisbon on that disastrous day trying to embark onto the Splendour. I have heard that RC have promised a £100 refund off there next cruise to those who persistently complained, sadly not I……..Anyway we have been on the Splendour three times, It was on this ship that first gave us the bug for this type of holiday. The 1st two holidays were fantastic the ship, food, staff, entertainment, itinerary everything first class. We then cruised with NCL on there new ships again everything excellent. On returning to the Splendour in April, everything was good with the exception of the ship which we thought looked a shade tired and in need of a refit. Certainly in the cabins and the lounge furniture spread around the ship all looked worn. Perhaps I am not being fair as previously we had been on new ships but I can only say it as we found it. Would I go on the Splendour again? I do not think so not until I hear it has had a refit. Will I go with RC again? Yes we are booked on the Brilliance for next March. Regards .

I have been informed by the boss that I have been to negative in saying "we would not sail on the Splendour again" and on reflection I agree. We would sail on the Splendour again but I would like to see it spruced up a little in certain areas and yes this is the ideal sized ship for me also.

Take heart from all the others have said, I love this ship and this class of ship. The "grub", as you so revoltingly put it, is very good and the new menu is better than the previous one. .....Neil.

I do feel that this feeling might be reciprocated on my part. But next time don't beat around the bush, come right out and say what you mean. Yours indefatigably, .... Neil.

My year in plans Part One

By Stacey Williams

Anyone who knows me will know I like a good plan. I am super organised, well I like to think so. Often that leaves me so busy I can’t fit in any more plans and that is what has happened this year! So here are my plans for 2017… So far anyway! My year starts next month when I am off to New York with a few friends. We are going for St Patricks weekend so it is all very exciting and I can’t wait. I have my ESTA sorted, passport all ready and my dollars in my purse. I just...

What Is Your Number One Priori...

By Freddie Moser

Freddie Moser's blog

So since finding out recently that I am going to become a dad for the first time (which I am probably foolishly ecstatic about), my priorities in life have taken something of a change of late! When I found out a couple of months ago, I started to look at my life. Where I was, what I have achieved, and what kind of future I wanted for my wife and imminent child. This little bit of soul searching has initially made me fixate at cash flow, which I’m sure is not unusual! So I have thrown myse...

Are cruise lines becoming sexist

By Ruby Perkins

Ruby Perkins's blog

Last week Aqua Expedition launched a new sensation but only for us ladies I’m afraid. They have come up with the idea of offering cruises just for ladies. They state……..‘With these cruises, women will have the chance to learn about new cultures and traditions whilst meeting new people who share the same excitement for adventure, whilst being able to enjoy a little bit of luxury at the same time.’Now forgive me for being a little lost with this fantastic opportunit...
