Cruise Line Protocols & Vaccine Information

Vaccination Policies

In the link below we have gathered up all the current rules on vaccinations and testing for P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Marella Cruises, MSC Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Celebrity Cruises, Saga Cruises, Fred.Olsen Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, Virgin Voyages, Norwegian Cruise Line and Hurtigruten.

A lot of cruise line policies on vaccinations are valid until the end of 2021 and for cruises beyond this, many currently don't have any rules in place as they are waiting for the latest guidance from the government. Please remember that cruise lines are constantly updating these and we will do our best to update this information each time anything changes.

Before you set sail...

Before you set sail, there is some vital information regarding the requirements for current cruises. As well as packing the sun cream (just in case!) this checklist should help ensure you have everything you need to go.

  • Passports - Despite only calling at UK ports, passports are required for travel. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. Proof of residency will be required for non-UK Passport Holders.
  • Travel Insurance - Make sure your cover meets the Cruise Line requirement to board. Cover specifically for COVID19 must be present. This can be viewed on the Cruise Line Website.
  • Proof of Vaccination status - Please refer to the Cruise Line website for more information on what you need to present at check-in. This varies depending on nationality. There are different Apps for England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man & European Guests. Please note that the cards issued on vaccination are not considered sufficient proof of vaccination to board your cruise and will not be accepted.
  • Pre-embarkation testing - Guidance varies by Cruise Line. Please make sure you check the most recent notices via your Cruise Personaliser or alternatively directly on the Cruise Line Website.
  • Travel Documentation - This will need to be taken with you, and on-line check-in should be completed in advance.
  • Check-in - Most Cruise Lines will have allocated each guest a time slot to arrive at the Port. It is important not to arrive outside the times provided to ensure a smooth check-in. This will be visible on your travel documentation.
  • Princess Medallion App - If you've booked with Princess Cruises you must download the MedallionClass app prior to your cruise as you will need to select an arrival time for embarkation.
    • If you've booked with us or another agency, you must go through the 'quick access' option only to register once you've downloaded the app.
    • IOS: version 12.0 or higher and Android: version 8.0 or higher are the minimum software requirements for the MedallionClass App.
    • Make sure you have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to make sure you have got the latest version.
    • If you've tried all of the above and are having issues, please call Princess Cruises directly on 0344 338 8660 who will be able to assist further.
  • Passenger Locator Form - A passenger locator form is used to collect your personal and travel information. This information is used to contact you in the event that you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Click HERE to view our guide on how to complete this form.

P&O Cruises have also created a handy guide for each destinations entry requirements that you can find HERE

With each cruise line introducing their own new protocols we have gathered up all the relevant places you can find the information you need before you set sail;
