Davies - Answered a Question by Nom de Plume (19 Nov 08 12:17)

Hello Nom de Plume. Many people will have their own personal favourite cruise agency, but you will normally find that this is because of the person they book with and not the agency itself. Some agents and agencies will unfortunately book people on a cruise and then want no further contact with them. If you want to try www.qualitycruises.org/uk, you will find that they only have one point of contact for you and you are not fobbed off to another department or person. When you book a cruise with the one person they will handle all of your requirements and be happy to answer any questions. Also their hours are good, because they normally are open until 9-9:30 in the evening so if you have a question come up at dinner, you don't have to wait until the following day for an answer. Also there prices are quite competitive.

Bradbury - Answered a Question by Nom de Plume (19 Nov 08 12:49)

I dont think it would be fair to cruise co uk to start recommending other agents. What I will say is what matters to me is the service and attitude of the the person at the other end of the telephone. I always use a specialist cruise agent/club, never the high street. Typical example went into a very well known high street travel agent recently and asked if they had a brochure on Oasis of the Seas to be met with the reply 'whats that'.. They just do not have the knowledge and specilaist info. And I dont always use the cheapest, I particularly tend to stick to my favourite Cruise Club but I do know another specialist cruise agent will undercut them by around £6-£10 pp (On a family booking of 6-10 persons this obviously amounts to a bit) However when I know I am talking to people who know their job inside out and nothing is too much trouble (and thet sound really enthusiastic about their job) I would rather pay the extra and be completely satisfied.

Wilba - Answered a Question by Nom de Plume (19 Nov 08 17:13)

This site is owned & operated by a Cruise Specialist, www.CRUISE.co.uk so as Bradbury advises any reference to any other cruise agent would be out of order. There are plenty of commendations to this company on this site so maybe the phone number at the top of the page might bring you the results your looking for. I have met the owners of this site & have spoken on the phone to their staff & would have no hesitation in getting a quote from them for my next cruise & believe me I know how to drive a hard bargain when it comes to cruises & holidays in general. Regards Wilba.

There is probably no other topic on cruising by beginners and seasoned cruisers alike that is more discussed than tips. A set amount, paid with the balance of your cruise. This is often a favourite for those who like to budget and know that their spending money is their spending...

Plastic is Not Fantastic

By Lily Canderton

Lily Canderton's blog

I was watching the Princess Documentary this week in Alaska and it was good to see the crew policing the use of plastic straws on the open decks when the ship was in Glacier Bay as they are one of the biggest causes of debris and pollution in our oceans and are difficult to recycleThe average American uses disposable plastic utensils at an average rate of 1.6 straws per person per day. Based on national averages, this equates to each person in the U.S. using about 38,000 straws between the ag...
