Can you purchase refreshments (soft drinks for children and wine etc for adults) while you are waiting to board.
We have only been on the aurora and i can tell you it makes no difference at all the time you arrive because you are given a coloured boarding card and shouted when it is your time to board.
When did you last cruise with P&O? I only say this because I had two cruises with P&O in 2007 (June and November), and on both, departing Southampton of course, I arrived at 1200 at the Mayflower Terminal and within, half an hour was on board eating in the Buffet Restaurant. P&O have made great efforts to streamline their boarding procedure, once you have got past the check in queue, done the check in procedure and signed all the necessary forms, you go through Security, and then straight onto the ship. It's as easy an quick as that.
It was a couple of years ago and it is good to know things have changed as we are again on the aurora in november this year and the oceana in march next so i am grateful for your comment thank you.
I sailed on oriana in 2004 and we all had to wait in the cruise terminal, and be called to board the ship, this process was timely. So when you arrive they check your details and then you can board is this correct? what time do you suggest we arrive?
We have aimed to arrive at the terminal by 12noon and have found that we are on board and having lunch within 30 mins. Don't worry about the time on your ticket. The coaches tend to arrive about 2pm and then there are lots of people to check in.
