Guy - Answered a Question by Gosling (31 Aug 08 17:45)

Hi,we always request a table for two as like you we prefer dinner for just us. We look forward to sharing a table at breakfast at lunch but prefer in the evenings to just relax and not feel that we have to make conversation if we dont feel like it. We have never been assigned a table for two as requested but have always managed to speak to the maitre'd after boarding and they always seem to manage to find us something although sometimes they have'nt been in the best position. incidently we asked on RCI recently what we should do to try and ensure we got our request and the lady there said the systems are not set up to allocate tables for two and that we would always have to try and sort it out once on board, anyone else heard that one? Regards Carol Guy.

We booked the August 1st Med cruise and requested 2 seater dining. When we arrived on board we noticed a queue of people waiting at the doors of the Britannia restaurant and wondered why. The next thing we saw were people getting annoyed because the staff would not let them in to evidently choose their preferred table! Some of the guests were positively rude and aggresive and my wife and I were amazed that people could be so rude. In answer to your question though, it seems that the earlier you book the easier it is to get a table for two as they are at a premium. We were shown to our table the first evening and it was for two.
