Q:We have booked a cruise on QE for September. The flight departs from Heathrow to Athens, but comes back in to Gatwick from Venice, not familiar with either airport as we would normally fly from Manchester, could anyone who has done this please suggest the best way to transfer between airports. 5 answers

what times are your flights from heathrow and back into gatwick? Having flown from heathrow quite a bit recently normally manchester, i would suggest you get the BA shuttle to Heathrow from Manchester then shuttle back from Gatwick, this will of course depend on your flight times. we are thinking of doing same cruise but agree with Wright as we must of been on the same return flight from venice last year as cunard dont have airport representation

Can't really comment re Athens as only flown out of and not in to. However, it is quite a pleasant environment when compared to many others. Re Venice - we returned from there after a trip on Queen Victoria and it was shambolic. After a fairly early disembarkation we felt that we were dumped at the airport with no Cunard representation and no indication of check in times. Eventually, we did check in and had to hang around with limited facilities until our eventual flight time. However, I have to say that this was not as bad as our recent experience with Azamara!!!

Thanks for your comment. Would you know if Cunard put shuttle transfers on from Gatwick to Heathrow?

We are also doing this cruise and have paid for a flight upgrade so we come back to Heathrow. It cost £99. You can get a car transfer from Gatwick to Heathrow for £45. I found this by putting Gatwick/Heathrow transfers in a search. I don't think Cunard are doing their own transfer.

Thanks to everyone who has answered. Problem now solved as Cunard have transferred us on to Manchester flights.
