CANDERTON - Answered a Question by whigham (25 Sep 07 16:05)

Hi if you are travelling light I strongly suggest that you do the self disembarcation option which Cunard give all passengers. We went to NY in November and we did the above which means you get off the ship quickly because they are not every organised as we found out when it took over 3 hours to get on at Southampton. Basically you come off the ship first and get through customs quickly as this is a lengthy process when they are disembarking over 3000 passengers. As you come out of the terminal there are yellow cabs and limos waiting. It cost us $45.00 dollars for a limo into midtown and there are boards showing clearly what the fares are,but we splshed out on a limo well worth the grand entrance at the hotel. If you get to your hotel early and your room is not ready you are able to leave your bgas with the bell captain and it will be safe. Another tip is if you want to visit the Empire state suggest you get there early we got there about 0730hrs in the morning and where up the top by 00800hrs and that was on a sunday!!. NY is very cold this time of year nd dry take warm clothes and lip balm!!!!! Have a great trip, another tip suggest you get a 4 day pass for the spa costs about $45.00 but well worth it.

Travelling the Globe!

By Stacey Williams

I am so excited for tomorrow as I have been invited to London for the annual Globe Travel Awards. I have never been to an awards ceremony before so I was over the moon to receive an invite from the amazing MSC Cruises. My plan is to pack in the morning just before travelling as we have been so busy at Cruise HQ I have had no time to organize anything. My train is booked for 9am from Dumfries to Carlisle and then onto Euston. I will (hopefully) arrive at around 1pm. I then need to navigat...

At the end of December Royal Caribbean started advertising for Lifeguards on their ships. The Post Stated that candidates will need to perform rescue of Guests in danger of drowning and be vigilant to potential accidents. Will be trained to administ...
