Neil Down - Answered a Question by brear (30 Jul 08 16:57)

As far as dress is concerned I would agree with A of N. As far as the weather is concerned a Chepstow late spring might be the case, wet and warmish in the main but cold as you get to the glacier region and at sea. Nothing against Chepstow as I used to live there. Take early summer wear along with rain wear and a sweater or sweat shirt and a light anorak and you should be ok. regards ... Neil.

On Celebrity they request that the evening dress code applies to the whole ship after 6pm, apart from in the casual dining venue where there is $2pp cover charge.

Neil Down is correct - expect mild temperatures varying from sunny to light drizzle. Dress in layers - short and long sleeve shirts (sorry, male-only comment!), sweater and light rain jacket. Two formal nights on a 7-day cruise, excpet you can eat in the buffet if you prefer casual the whole time. Formal evenings are superb and they are the only "dinner jacket" evenings. Mercury has only a buffet besides the restaurant. The larger ships have an alternate restaurant.

My husband and i have recently returned from a cruise on Symphony of the Seas to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and without a doubt it was one of the best cruises we have done. We arrived in Barcelona on 27th April and had one night at the Onix Liceo Hotel which is centrally located about half way down Las Ramblas on a side street, and is a great location for a pre cruise stay if you are looking for something central. We took a taxi to the port the following morning where the check i...
