Briefly, prior to October 2008, Island Cruises was owned, 50% Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and 50% TUI Travel PLC - parent company of Thomson Cruises, and had 2 ships Island Escape and Island Star. In October 2008, TUI Travel PLC bought out Royal Caribbean, a term of the agreement was the Island Star be decommissioned from the fleet from 26 March 2009. Until this date, cruises on the Island Star continue as before under Island Cruises. The Stars sister ship, presently in Brazil for the winter season, is now under Thomson, there is further information on this website and Island Cruises website, and you will substantial information available if you internet search TUI Island Cruises Hope this helps .
