MINI CRUISES

This was the first time that my wife and I have cruised. What an experience! Cruise ship was Azura evening dining in the Oriental Restaurant, faultless food and service. In fact the whole dining experience including the buffet was a real pleasure...  Read More >>

The Dream is great in size but the staff do a super job to keep you special. We stayed in an inside staterrom which was of an acceptable size with a virtual porthall, there was space under the bed to fit our suitcase...  Read More >>

Balmoral - Can anyone tell me if lunch is provided onboard on embarkation day please? I think I recall seeing somewhere that this is only for suite passengers, if so which grades have lunch provided? Many thanks in advance.

Dec 2011 we were in a Marquee suite on Boudicca and did not board until 2.30 and so no lunch available at all. Previously we had sailed on Balmoral and had been invited to early embarkation and lunch but if you read the "perks" on Freds website lunch is not now mentioned...I think they have stopped offering it but if I am wrong someone will tell me :)..Carol

Sorry I could not resist that; you will get a full buffet meal when you get on. PS I don't know why it has come up twice.

You will only get a full buffet meal when you board if you have been specifically invited for lunch on embarkation day. The first available food for the majority of passengers will be afternoon tea about 4.00 - 4.30pm. and this is not substantial. I always advise people to have lunch before they board as it's a long time to wait for dinner if you are on late sitting.
