There seem to be such a great number of excursions on offer for the trip ,any advice on what to choose would be appreciated

Having had 7 trips aboard Silversea I would not choose any other line. As a single female traveller they really look after me - hosting 'single' nights etc. I agree with your previous message that no bar bill and no tips make for a far more comfortable cruise. I've never felt compromised at the bar! I would like to comment about dress code, though. Yes, you can 'dress up to the nines' for the formal nights; but if you are more comfortable in a short cocktail dress that is just fine, too. Especially as you are going to the Caribbean you might want to avoid long dresses which are often associated with Xmas Balls!

Thanks so much for your comments.Im plannning to take long black evening skirt with a lot of different tops to wear with it,plus evening cocktail dress, plus evening black trousers . Nothing I have heard so far is making me feel it wont be worth what we have paid.Thankyou again.

Been on over 35 Cruises, & always found Silversea to be the best, first sailed with this Italian Family Owned Group on "Fairsea", then "Fairsky" & "Fairstar" who originally owned the "Sitmar" Line in the 1960's/70's, before it was sold to Princess Cruises, which bought P&O later in the 80's. We are also sailing again with Silversea from Barbados on the 17th of November, on the Panama Canal & Mexican Pacific Coast Cruise, we are so looking forward to it once again, as we haven't been through the "Canal" again since 1968, it is such an "Awesome" experience, & the Donkey Engines are so powerful for such a small size, to pull you through the Locks. We are arriving in Barbados the day before, on the 16th & staying at the "Hilton" Hotel before boarding the "Silver Cloud" the next afternoon for the Voyage. All we can say is that you must prepare yourself for a "Full Indulgence" Cruise, as we have never been disappointed with them over the years. We will be taking Dinner Suit, Tuxedo, Sports Jackets, & slacks for me & Long Evening Gowns, Cocktail Dresses, & Trouser Suits for my Wife, for the Evenings onboard, & normally shorts & shirts or Polo Shirts or tops for day wear for both of us, with sandals, flip flops or loafers to wear footwise onboard, & sensible soft shoes or sandals ashore. Looking forward to meeting you onboard sometime, until then enjoy yourself as much as you can. Peter & Sylvia Wood.

Thanks so much for your info,we are booked at the Hilton the 15th and 16th so perhaps can meet up there for a drink. We felt we wanted to get there a couple days before and chill out to prepare for the "Full Indulgence" cruise. George and Jean Gray

That would have been great, but unfortunately we don't arrive until late Evening of the 16th, however we could meet up the next morning before we leave for the Ship. Looking forward to a great time onboard & ashore at all the different stops, see you in November. Peter & Sylvia Wood.

Good News, We have re-organised our travel arrangements, to travel direct to Barbados from London, so we will be arriving by Virgin Atlantic at Grantley Adams Airport in Barbados around 3.10pm on 16th now, so should get to Hilton Hotel at Needham's Point around 4.30pm or so, depending on luggage collection & Chauffeur drive through late afternoon traffic, luckily Airport to Hotel is only around 4/5 miles on same side, so don't have to go through Bridgetown. Will be ready for a good evening meal once we have settled in, see you then. Peter & Sylvia Wood.

We went on the Silver Shadow in March (first time on this line) the service, food is far better than anything on the major lines (P&O, Cunard, Celebrity etc). The entertainment is low key but the evening shows were still fine. Not having the worry about a bar bill is great and with the tips included you probably won't spend too much unless you go on a lot of tours. Have a great holiday
