If it's salmon fishing you want, try Scotland. The ports in Alaska are typically full of tourist tack.

Is the cruise going to Kenai? The Kenai River is known for its world-class King Salmon fishing. You would probably have to book this direct yourself though, not through Princess.

I;m almost certain the salmon seasons finished September but I went fishing for halibut when I was their last September,also sunfish on the bottom.

A waste of time and money i went on trip booked on ship six people on small boat guide went about half mile from ship not a single fish in four hours. I would sail from vancouver and take a three daytrip to campbell river Painters Lodge is a good hotel cought fish every day inc two kings of 20 lbs plus .
