Q: Please can anyone advise if the adult drinks package covers beers/wines/spirits from the ship's bars as well as the main restaurant and self service restaurant. We're not big drinkers, but as we're cruising over Christmas we would treat ourselves to the occasional 'snifter' as well as wine with our meal and sot drinks/water during the day, and are trying to work out the best value for us .

Thanks

We have cruised with MSc and we always take the adult drinks package. Here's what the MSc web site says: All Inclusive In The Restaurants & At The Buffet At mealtimes in the main restaurants and at the self service buffet you will have a choice of 2 red wines, 2 white wines and a rosé available that will be poured for you. Additionally mineral water, draft and bottled beer and soft drinks will be available as part of the All Inclusive package too. All Inclusive In Your Cabin All items from the mini bar are covered by the All Inclusive offer though please note that, on MSC Melody, mini bars are not available. Mineral water in the cabin is covered by the package and is available on all ships. All Inclusive At The Bars All drinks from the bars priced up to € 7,00 / $ 7,00 (including take-away ice-cream in cone or cup). It also includes icecream, milkshakes, etc which are delicious on MSC ships. Also you have unlimited coffees including speciality coffees from bars and restaurants. You can have wines by the glass from bars - better choice than the bottles offered in the restaurants. We have always found the package great value for money.

hello, is the all-inclusive available again, and how much did you pay for it? Thanks Fifi.

Fi-fi, you need to check out the MSC site but I have seen that the All Inclusive for £1 is available on certain bookings for Med cruises in 2012 but the offer closes later this month. Here is a link to my review of our Med cruise on the Magnifica. http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-reviews/msc-cruises/msc-magnifica/read_review_27934. Specifically answering you question on how much I have paid for AI. On one cruise I paid £1 and on another I had to pay the £33 pppn. Happy bargaion hunting and enjoy the Magnifica. By the way, I would opt for 1st sitting on the Magnifica if you can get it - more convenient for fitrting in cocktails, shows, etc.

Fifi, on some MSC cruises there are special offers where you can upgrade to all inclusive for just £1! You need to keep an eye out for those of course and we have managed that just once. The last time we purchased the AI package it was about £33 per person per day. Now, that may sound a lot of money but you can soon spend that sort of money and by taking the package you know that you can basically have a great time! Consider having a few "proper coffees" and not the stuff they serve in the buffet area; an icecream, milkshake or smoothie, bottled water, a drink at lunctime, pre-dinner drinks, wine with meal and an after dinner drink. You can also use the drinks in the mini-bar every day if you like and they will be replenished. That in itself can be lucrative. MSC cruises do get some stick but they have fantastic ships, fantastic crew and good food - not the sort of food you find on UK or US ships but you won't go hungry. Its an Italian ship and you will be in the minority - so when in Rome............I hope you enjoy MSC.

Thanks a million for your answer, yes we travelled on MSC Fantasia in the Summer, and we had the all-inclusive. It was expensive but when you add it all up and add on the 15% service charge, I think it makes sense to purchase the all-inclusive. We like to have a few cocktails in the evening, and a drink after our meal. Which is the best sitting for the Eastern Mediterranian cruise on th MSC Magnifica. We had the early sitting in the summer which was fine. But they have us down for the late sitting for this trip. But looking at itinery we will be missing lunch a few times, and am unsure whether to change sitting to the earlier time, have you done this trip? Any other information wOuld be most appreciated. Thanks, Fifi.
