The Balls are held (on the many) formal nights, so posh dress is required although not all follow the themes, the Black and White being the most complied with.

Thank you. I don't want to be the only one incorrectly dressed.

Not everyone dresses for the ball. As the ballroom is at the very rear of the QM2 you may never see it if you didn't go looking. But on the formal nights people do make the effort on Cunard.

The fancy dress evenings are on formal nights, and some people like to follow the theme, but the majority just dress for a normal, formal evening. As said in a previous comment, Black and White does tend to be the exception, probably because it is easy to do. So do not feel you have to follow the themes. It is optional, but you do see some amazing outfits.

To answer your question yes, there are many different theme balls on the WC and it would be impossible to cater for every theme. In addition there are many Gala nights, particularly for World Cruisers (you will be made to feel very special). You have picked the best ship (liner) for such a epic and memorable holiday, enjoy.

We have just been on Victoria, and the formal nights were very well supported, although I am not a lover of it, I thoroughly enjoyed dressing up, it was part of the experience, those who thought that they dressed up stood out like a sore thumb. I was however pushed on by my wife.
