Hi yes we were on the grand in sept last year we ate in sabbatini,s and although the food was very good it was not any better than the standard restaurants .did not feel the extra was really worth it but it was very nice. very intimate and a bit more attention from waiters but not outstanding.have a great time we did wonderful ship.

Thank you for your comment on the Grand Princess. We did a Round Britain cruise on her - June 2008. We were very satisfied and found no need to eat where a cover charge applied. We have booked to go to the Med this April-May on the same ship, and trust that it will prove just as good as we are taking along three family members who have not cruised on Princess before, being P&O experienced. We will be dining free-style. We have forgotten whether there are one or two formal evenings and whether there is a Captain's party or such like.

We ate in Sabatini's on the Crown Princess 2 years ago and loved it. We are going on the Grand on the 13th March leaving heathrow on the 11th and hope to try it out on this ship also.

We dined in Sabatinis on the Emerald Princess which was excellent and I imagine they are all similar.

DINNING - replied to Batchelor (03 Mar 09 15:38)

The Sabatinis on the Emerald +Ruby (same ship) look much more upmarket than the Grand P's.I have seen them but not the Grand's Sabatinis .Has anybody dined in both?.We are looking at a special occasion, but the reviews seem so so for the Grand, but much better for the Ruby+Emerald.Any views on the Grand's steak bar?
