Hi yes we were on the grand in sept last year we ate in sabbatini,s and although the food was very good it was not any better than the standard restaurants .did not feel the extra was really worth it but it was very nice. very intimate and a bit more attention from waiters but not outstanding.have a great time we did wonderful ship.
Thank you for your comment on the Grand Princess. We did a Round Britain cruise on her - June 2008. We were very satisfied and found no need to eat where a cover charge applied. We have booked to go to the Med this April-May on the same ship, and trust that it will prove just as good as we are taking along three family members who have not cruised on Princess before, being P&O experienced. We will be dining free-style. We have forgotten whether there are one or two formal evenings and whether there is a Captain's party or such like.
Hi if your goung for 14 nights there is usually 2 formal nights.we wanted to go back on grand this sept but due to family wedding we cant makethe dates it sails from southampton.so we have decided to go royal carribean independance of the seas.I hope its a s good as princess as we had the most wonderful time.i do envy you and hope your holiday is truly memorable.
THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION AND REASSURANCE RE GRAND PRINCESS.
We can assure you of the high quality of RCI ships having been on Legend and Brilliance.
Many thanks its just that we are going and celerbrating a special event and thought it may be a bit more special to eat at Sabatinis having seen how fab the restaruant looked on the Coral Princess but from your comments i think we still stick to the main restaurant
We ate in Sabatini's on the Crown Princess 2 years ago and loved it. We are going on the Grand on the 13th March leaving heathrow on the 11th and hope to try it out on this ship also.
We ate in Sabatini's last year it was excellent, get the table by the window if you can.
We dined in Sabatinis on the Emerald Princess which was excellent and I imagine they are all similar.
The Sabatinis on the Emerald +Ruby (same ship) look much more upmarket than the Grand P's.I have seen them but not the Grand's Sabatinis .Has anybody dined in both?.We are looking at a special occasion, but the reviews seem so so for the Grand, but much better for the Ruby+Emerald.Any views on the Grand's steak bar?
