Ovation of the Seas , an insight

Well off the three of us started from Coventry for our little trip to see the new Ovation of the Seas in Southampton, people often ask me how far is the parking (this is AB Port Parking) you really are this close !!

Boarding for us was pretty easy , I cannot comment on what the actual “sailings” will be like I am sure I will be finding out soon as there are lots of passengers booked in the the 14th April

We were lucky enough to get a Balcony cabin on deck 7 (576) , the lifeboat was visible below , but not obscuring the view at all

This one day visit is almost impossible to see all this amazing ship has to offer , we have loads of content on our home page as our marketing team were on board and taking stacks of pictures and videos. As my future as a professional photographer is not on the cards these are just a few of my favourites.

We went on some of the activities (not the flow rider, forgot my costume !! and that’s the excuse I am sticking to)

We had lunch in the Windjammer buffet, very spacious and the most comfortable chairs , there were several different options available , from American burgers/hot dogs , pasta, veggie option , and a good selection on the deserts.

In the evening we ate in Silk, not the general menu you would get as they wanted us to try different foods without having to move restaurants, I had the Fillet steak , which was amazing, I am pretty sure that came from American Icon grille. The service was superb and the waiters friendly , chatty and extremely helpful.

One of the things I wanted to see were the “virtual” balconies , it really is realistic, they are inside cabins and you can see very roomy , the picture on the wall changes as the ship moved , as we were in the dock , the view on here is exactly what we saw from our genuine balcony room .

How clever, that’s a word that was used lots , along with Amazing. This is not traditional cruising from years ago , but innovative , interesting, and with bundles to do. I will be posting more as there is just too much for one blog

Enjoy !
