Carnival is coming to town !

Well its not the carnival as we know it, there wont be clowns and a big tent , rather a nice new big Carnival ship called the Vista.

CarnivalVista

Weighing in @ 133000 tons and hold 4000 guests she will be starting her maiden voyage in the Mediterranean from May 2016

Carnival Vista will spend several days at sea as the ship’s performance and general seaworthiness will be tested. They will also test the ship’s propulsion, speed, maneuverability, stabilizers, and safety features (fire suppression & life saving equipment). One of the tests that will be run is the Crash Stop. The ship is pushed to maximum speed and then the propulsion system is turned off to see how much distance and time it takes for the ship to come to a complete stop.

And I have some news , myself and a colleague were lucky enough to win a trip , only four nights I am afraid,  from 17th June , we will be joining the ship in Crete and returning home from Athens, just a tad happy !!

I have never been on Carnival so really looking forward to this, the “fun days at sea” intrigue me, I know they are quite busy cruises and are known for having lots of deck activities , not for everyone  , but really interested to see first hand. There will be lots of pictures in my future blogs so watch out for them at the end of June when we get back.

Here is a video to watch with a bit of cheesy music  !

I am now even more excited for June , I have already booked lots of passengers on this new ship , they have some really good itineraries during the summer, she will leave after this season and end up with Miami being her home port , so this is the year to “Get on Board” excuse the pun !!
