There’s No Escape

I’m sure there’s still quite a few out there who aren’t sure what an Escape Room is. You may have noticed it when your scrolling through TripAdvisor at the top things to do and thought what is this. I have done quite a few of these myself up and down the UK and i absolutely love them.

So what is an Escape Room? it’s a game designed for groups of people and the players have to solve the clues and find hidden puzzles in the room during the allocated time usually 60 mins.

When Anthem of the Seas launched in 2015 they introduced this concept with their first at sea Escape room – Escape the Rubicon. The room is designed by Puzzle Break and has since followed on the Harmony of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas.

It is a very different kind of activity you can do on board a ship. You can sign up whilst on board the ship whether that’s in your cabin or down at guest relations. A minimum of 6 people are required which include a group of people or complete strangers it’s all good fun. Minimum age of 14 years. The host will help out if there is only 5 of you.

Once you enter there will be a quick briefing and a video to watch. Then you will be lead into the room and once the timer starts you must search the room for the clues and hidden messages contained. This includes things like word searches or patterns and puzzles to really get your brain working. If your really struggling say after 10 mins of not finding anything the host will give you subtle clues to help you on your way.

If you find the key phrase to escaping the room within 60 minutes great you’ve won you’ve beat the room. If not oh well you can still get out but it’s all good fun.

So next time your on board Royal Caribbean why not give it a try.
