Not Enough?

Would you say there is not enough to do in the evenings on a cruise? Would you say the entertainment was poor?  We do at times get comments like this, why?  Not all cruise lines have the all singing, all dancing entertainment that perhaps people expect. (there again not all people want to go on a cruise with that, some like to just chill, read a book and go to bed early.)

What about those of you who do want a bit of entertainment in the evening, who would I recommend?  It is of course all down to personal preference and how your feeling I guess, as some nights you may be so shattered all you want to do is go to sleep. Other nights though you do want to be entertained, boy can these ships entertain you!

If you are a lover of the Broadway shows you can take your pick from some fantastic acts. One of my own personal favourites are The Blue Man Group who are currently on the Norwegian Epic. The show is fantastic and although not a Broadway show with singing and dancing, they do make you laugh and it is really enjoyable but with no speaking! I cant spoil it – worth looking out for them though!  So back to the Broadway shows, how about Legends in Concert on the same Epic ship or Chicago on Allure Of The Seas, Hair Spray on Oasis Of The Seas, and Mamma Mia on the Quantum Of The Seas – this show in particular is I am told, brilliant.

Then there are your usual comedians, music shows, dramatic art shows, even a bit of “aqua theatre” on the Oasis and Allure Of The Seas.  As you know I was on the Queen Mary 2 in December, we saw a show there called Rock Of Ages with 4 guys who sang a lot of old Queen songs amongst others, they were brilliant and perhaps something you would not expect on a Cunard ship?  This year I have seen that Crosby Stills & Nash are on the Queen Mary transatlantic crossing on 4th September, now they would be something to look out for!  Same on the MSC Preziosa ship which I was on in October. There was a really good Broadway show on one night and the other had some opera singers. Not my kind of thing, but the singing was beautiful and people loved it.

I am also not forgetting the movies under the stars, piano bar acts, karaoke, going to the disco, etc  etc. I am sure that whatever cruise you do eventually pick it will be the right one for you.
