Move Over RoboCop – Make Way For The Roboscreens

Now, I am a bit of a technophobe – we have recently purchased a new ” Smart TV” and it’s taking me sometime to get to grips with all the different screens we can have, we can Skype, I can talk to it – I think the only thing it can’t do is make me a cup of tea.

So it was with some trepidation that I listened and watched  a webinar last week from Royal Caribbean. I have to say I was blown away  by what they were telling us.

They are taking entertainment at sea to a whole new level, with their new ship Quantum Of The Seas which launches later this year.

There will be Roboscreens that will twist and turn either individually or as a unit and Vistarama which will project digital shows onto floor to ceiling windows – I know, mind boggling.

All this will be happening in the new venue Two70°, it will  have 18 projectors to create the Vistarama image, which is 100ft wide and more than 20ft high, and six Roboscreens. Live performers will mix with music and special effects. Sounds fantastic to me.

If that is too high tech, then what about the Royal Theatre? 1300 people can be seated at anytime, there is going to be a Mamma Mia show and a Sonic Odyssey Show – this is an original production and I am told has to en to be believed.

Royal Caribbean say that they have created these experiences for the new to cruise market – never mind them, I can’t wait to experience it myself, what about you?
