Celebrity revamps flight offerings

It’s all going on at Celebrity’s flights department!!

Firstly an announcement a couple of weeks ago to say they have joined forces with Norwegian Air to put on a direct service from Gatwick to San Juan, Puerto Rico. This will be used to pair up with the Summit, which offers 8 night cruises from the island, or 18 night back to back options. This route has been a headache for cruisers and sales staff alike. Great move. As part of this flight guests will also have the luxury baggage allowance of 40kgs AND they there are rumors they will be travelling on one of Norwegian’s 787 Dreamliners.

The introduction of this flight means there is no need for a pre cruise stay in a hotel as the flight will get in at 16.45, and apparently the savings will be passed on.

The 2nd announcement, which came last week, is that Celebrity have chartered a private jet. The new service will be based from London Stansted and will launch with Celebrity on the 7th July 2015.

This new premium charter service will be running exclusively for passengers sailing on the Celebrity Equinox in 2016.

The service will include the following :-

Parking at Stansted private jet terminal.

Luxury departure lounge.

Up to 25kg per person hold allowance.

Complimentary meals and drinks on the flights.

Priority embarkation and late disembarkation from the ship.

So 2 big announcements and improvements, both in London. Is it about time some improvements were made in the North and Midlands?
