Azamara’s sleek new look

Azamara Cruise Club have announced both the Journey and the Quest will undergo major refurbishment. In keeping with the lines “immersive cruising” they have relied on nature and the elements to provide inspiration in the design of all areas on board. The line said that “no area on board will be left untouched” and that the transformation would include all staterooms and suites as well as dining venues and the spas.

The cruise line are being cagey with exactly how much is being spent on the renovations, however, they have described the improvements as a “major investment”

Richard Twynam, managing director for the UK and Ireland, added: “Whilst our offerings for destination immersion have gone from strength to strength over the years, our ship upgrades signify a major investment by the brand to continue our commitment to enhancing guests’ experiences of holidaying with us.”

Azamara Journey goes into drydock in January 2016 in the Bahamas and Azamara Quest will get its transformation in Singapore in April next year.

The inspiration coming from the elements are being used in the following ways;

Earth: has inspired the muted colour palette of earth tones that will be added throughout the ship.

Water: is represented in the new spa suites which will feature rain showers with ocean views and outdoor Jacuzzi tubs. (Picture below)

Air: is found in the new open air venues which include and Asian Al Fresco restaurant. (as pictured above)

Fire: is seen in the new outdoor Pool & Grill and revitalized entertainment areas. (Below)

I think the plans look fantastic, and will really throw Azamara in with the 6 star cruise lines, as previously I thought their ships let them down against the likes of Oceania, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas and Seabourn.

Have you ever sailed with Azamara? Do you like the new look?
