MSC’s Meraviglia, the first in MSC’s next-generation of cruise ships has just gone on sale for it’s summer 2017 maiden season.
The initial sale of cabins will be open exclusively to MSC Club members, with non-members able to book beginning July 5th.
MSC Meraviglia promises to be the biggest and most innovative ship built by a cruise line on this side of the Atlantic, with space for 5,700 guests and weighing in at 167,600 gross registered tons.
The ship will be delivered in May of 2017, will sail the Mediterranean and will be the very first to have three different homeports; Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona.
On top of that the vessel boasts a whole host of features brand new to the cruise line, such as NFC (near-field communication, which allows technology to communicate – like short-range WiFi!) technology which can geo-locate your children (just in case they manage to get out of sight), make payments, book treatments and more, all through your smartphone or wristband.
All of this news comes just as MSC reveal their new Seaside-class ships, starting with MSC Seaside.
Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises’ Chief Executive Officer has said; “The opening of sales marks yet another decisive milestone in MSC Cruises’ expansion plan, especially as MSC Meraviglia’s inaugural cruise will take place two years from now. MSC Meraviglia is a true maritime marvel and will be one of the greenest and safest ships in the industry, as well as one of the most technologically advanced.
“We are thrilled to offer MSC Club members the first pick to book their distinctive holiday experience so far in advance and the demand we are seeing for our product translates the eagerness with which MSC Meraviglia is awaited.”
The future is bright for MSC! Will you be sailing aboard Seaside or Meraviglia?
