2020 cruise already booked!

One thing we have learnt since coming to the U.K. from South Africa is that you have to plan ahead especially during the summer school holidays.  January is also a good time to find a good deal.  After cruising to cooler climates these past few years we decided the Mediterranean was our destination of choice.  2017 we had cruised to the Baltics and last year it was Norway, Iceland and Ireland.

Flying has become quite stressful and after seeing how so many peoples holidays were ruined at Christmas by the drone sightings, sailing out of Southampton was also a factor we needed to consider.

So when I saw the current Royal Caribbean promotion where not only do the adults get the deluxe drinks package but children get the refresher package as well, I booked!  (Well  – I did check with the boss first). The price was also far more attractive than it was when we had done our last 14 night to the Mediterranean in 2015 on Explorer of the Seas! Normally all 4 of us share an outside cabin but as we are all growing – (some more than others – note to self – treadmill!!) – so I booked 2 inside cabins.

In July 2020, we are cruising to the Italian Mediterranean on our favourite ship – Independence of the Seas.

So if being active is your thing, Independence has the Rock Wall to climb, catch a wave on the FlowRider, go ice skating or just splash around in the H2O Zone water park with the kids. These jaw-dropping activities are all included onboard in the price of your action-packed holiday on Independence of the Seas.

But, if you’re after a haven of tranquillity, you can retreat to our wonderful Spa for a bit of top-to-toe pampering, or just find the nearest sun-drenched lounge and relax with your favourite book and cocktail, watching your next destination appear over the horizon. Not to mention all the world-class entertainment onboard such as the full production of Grease the Musical!

One of the best things we love about a Royal Caribbean cruise holiday is that the destinations come to you. Wake up to a new horizon every day, filled with the promise of adventure. No unpacking or case-lugging required.

Things to remember when looking for a Royal Caribbean cruise:

  • Sailings in the summer holidays sell fast – you snooze you lose!!
  • Promotions change – at the moment all drinks are included, this will change and all drinks may go and be replaced by just onboard credit or only drinks for adults might be available.
  • Always read the small print as certain cabin grades are not included in promotions.
  • Once booked you are tied into that promotion and cannot chop and change.
  • Deposit currently is only £75.00 pp whereas it is normally £150.00 pp.
  • Inside cabins are a good choice.
  • Choose your itinerary well.
  • No weight restrictions when sailing out of Southampton.
  • Consider what you get for the price
