What a ship !

After an early departure on Wednesday the 15th October we all drove down to Southampton to be met by our Royal Caribbean hosts to get on board the Fantastic Oasis of the Seas.

She really is big !! 225 000 tonnes and the biggest cruise ship to sail into Southampton, what I thought a really nice touch was the bacon butties, tea and coffee provided for the cruise watchers who made a special trip down to see her dock, all for free !! We were not quite early enough.

We were on time for lunch on board, and then an interactive tour of the ship with lots of walking and looking around. Strangely enough she did not appear to be that big when on board, I think the first time we felt the sheer size of her was on open deck and THEN you see how wide she is, but all the gangways and stairs are broad, and the lifts hold 22 people, really not difficult to get around.
