Emerald Princess, a trip to Guernsey

So off we set in true style from Coventry for our 3 nights on The Emerald Princess, have to start with a little bubbly !!

Arrival was great and went pretty smooth , we were there long before 1 pm , and even though we had priority check in , it seemed everyone was allowed to board, quick and easy , just be sure all of your paperwork is in order, and its a breeze.

Day one and we had great weather, lucky really, we headed up on deck and took advantage of wearing sunglasses that do not normally get out much !

This is deck 15 , a little breezy, but lovely in the sun !

Looking down , as you can see we are out at see , the ship was at full capacity , but she holds the passengers well, the public areas really are well laid out, my husband thought it very similar to the Ventura, on the decks.

I wanted to show you the theatre empty , and you can have an idea of how big it is !

What I found was the service to be a little slow, this is just my opinion , and I think its sad that the short cruises do not seem to have the same service, which in itself does not make sense , this is where people use them to “try it out” first time cruisers would have nothing to compare it to, but there were a few times when we waited for 30 minutes for a drink , even I got a little impatient. Maybe there were staffing issues we were unaware of ? Not sure, dinner on the first night was really slow, but did improve 100% the second and third nights.

Food was good, the buffet restaurant could be laid out a bit better, on a sea day it can get pretty busy , my advice , use room service !!

Day out in Guernsey, we just went off and browsed around, a little retail therapy, some people paid for trips and others found a bus that leaves from just inside the port for £1 bargain, takes you around and about, apparently pretty good.

The weather changed for the worse and out tender took ages to link back to the ship, they had to do 5 attempts and move the whole ship to make it safe for us, a bit scary but still an adventure, and everyone got back on board safe and sound, the bar was extremely busy

I am looking forward to seeing what the Caribbean Princess has to offer at the end of May, with a bit of luck the sunshine will come out again
