Paying for extras all the time……..

With new ships hitting the ocean and more people starting to cruise, you would think the cruise lines would be trying to make things easier for customers; however it would seem over the last 12 months our wonderful cruise lines are taking great pleasure of confusing customers more & more. Free drinks, extra OBC, free gratuities, no that promotions finished now it’s just lower prices. I myself struggle to keep up, so it’s no wonder you are all getting confused out there too.

On top of this I’ve received a fair few grumbles from passengers returning from their cruises this year complaining about all the additional extras they are having to pay on top of what they have already shelled out for. You pay for your cruise, let’s say £1000 per person, you think that this should include almost everything. Then once on board you end up paying extra to sunbathe on a certain part of the ship, eat in a specific restaurant, sample a particular beverage, experience an attraction on board. It would seem that cruise lines are implementing more and more hidden costs that cruisers are not aware of because they have not read the small print or just were not expecting.

I’ve found this has mainly been the case with passengers returning off the Britannia. So heads up cruise lines, passengers are really not appreciating all the hidden costs. So could you simplify things a little before you start losing more loyal customers!!!

For customers, if there is a particular experience you wish to have on board be sure to ask your agent when booking what hidden costs are involved.
