Bye bye Thomson

Sad news today to hear that TUI will soon be fading out the UK’s favourite ‘Thomson’ brand along with ‘First choice’ which joined forces with Thomson a few years back. Having worked for Thomson for many years, I can quite safely say they are one of the best Companies I have ever worked for.

My concern is how will the good old Thomson customers cope with the change. Thomson has been owned by TUI now for many years but the ‘Thomson’ brand is still a firm favourite with such a huge volume of UK Holiday makers. I tend to find Thomson customers including myself are creatures of habit and although embrace change it takes a little while to get fully on-board with it. Even though the aircrafts, hotels, staff and literature have carried the Tui smile logo for years, we still know it as good old ‘Thomson’.

So in 2017 will I be selling TUI cruises and not Thomson? Hhhhhhmmm…………….

I think Tui might be dropping a bit of a clanger on this one but only time will tell.
