Royal Caribbean have gone all-inclusive!

I love the fact that cruise lines are now offering drinks packages to purchase for the duration of your cruise.

I do think that some of them are a little pricy. $45-$55 per person per day is the average price which is probably ok if you are on cruise for 7 nights, however any longer and your cruise could become very expensive.
When I heard Royal Caribbean were giving away a drinks package for free on selected cruises, this definitely caught my attention! Happy days!

Rising Tide Bar!

After the success Celebrity cruises had with their new all-inclusive package, Royal Caribbean have decided to follow suit.

They are offering a free drinks package for selected new bookings to Europe and the Mediterranean for summer 2015!

Included in the deal are cruises sailing out of Southampton on the brand new Anthem of the seas; the Brilliance of the seas sailing out of Harwich and the Explorer of the seas out of Southampton.

Other Mediterranean cruises include Allure of the seas out of Barcelona Royal Caribbean’s largest ship in the fleet and the old favourite Splendour of the seas sailing out of Venice.

So what is included in the free all-inclusive package?

Beer; bottled, canned and draft. Wine by the glass (up to $8 in value), fountain drinks – soda package with free souvenir cup and non-alcoholic cocktails.

Also included in the offer is free gratuities, a free soda package for children; and up to $200 per cabin on board credit.

The select Drinks Package and would normally cost $40 per person per day which is approx £25.

Can I upgrade the package?

Yes! Whilst on-board you will be able to upgrade to a Premium Drinks Package. With prices from $55 per person per day which is approx £35. Great value especially if you enjoy spirits.

Included in the premium package is all house spirits with the mixer, premium cocktails, beers, premium wine by the glass (up to $12 value), frozen and non-alcoholic cocktails and fountain soda.

The last cruise I went on was for 12 nights and my account was over $500 (mainly wine and cocktails!) so this would have been a great deal.

The deal is also applicable to mini cruises which is unheard of! Normally promotions are valid for cruises of 7 nights or more.

Will these turn into booze cruises?

If you are planning a short relaxing break.. just beware these mini cruises are popular with hens, stags and groups of friends. In fact, I will be one of them next year for my friend’s 50th birthday! Good job they are big ships with plenty of quieter areas to escape the crowds.

I think it’s a great promotion and certainly takes the worry out of how much you will spend on-board. You can also book restaurants, excursions and buy gifts via your cruise personaliser before you travel. It takes budgeting to a whole new level!

Would this inspire you to book early?

Have you ever bought a drinks package? Was it worth it?

I would love to hear what you think of this offer.
