Bottoms up!

Celebrity Cruises are rolling out a new bar concept next month that will feature a wide array of craft beers.

The Gastrobar will debut on the Celebrity Equinox and will serve up more than 40 handcrafted brews, as well wine, cocktails and comfort food. There will also be music and entertainment. My husband and dad would love this! I can just see it now… how many beers can we consume in a week’s cruise? What happens if you stumble on 1 which is so delicious? Do you carry on trying the different beers? It would be a difficult decision!

Gastrobar is taking the place of Cellar Masters, a wine-focused outlet which has been on the ship since the 1^st sailing in 2009.It’s being added as we speak along with other new features in a Spanish shipyard and is due to be completed this week.

Also being added during the makeover is a new frozen drinks venue called Slush.

Slush will feature alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions with ingredients ranging from fresh pressed lemon juice, raspberries, cucumbers and mint to Persian lime, Florida Valencia and Hamlin orange juice with organic agave nectar. Sounds like my kind of bar! Frozen cocktails always remind me of holidays!

Celebrity Equinox’s retail areas also are getting a revamp with the addition of a Michael Kors store; similar to one on sister ship Celebrity Silhouette and the addition of more brand name goods in other stores. Brands including Chanel, Clinique, Dior, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Desigual and UNOde50… and it’s all tax free! Lovely!

In addition a new high-end portrait studio and a new Internet lounge will feature after the makeover.

Celebrity Equinox is 122,000 Tons, 1,041 feet long, carries 2,850 passengers and sailing out of Rome during this summer. Other on-board highlights include..

The Lawn Club – the top deck of the ship is covered in a half-acre of real grass. A country club atmosphere makes this one of the most unique venues on the seas and multiple dining venues including the spa-restaurant Blu.
