A weekend with Celebrity

I had the pleasure of sailing for 2 nights on the Celebrity Eclipse and i must say she is a lovely ship.

Myself and Layla live in Sheffield and i drove us down that morning and parked the car at ABP Parking right opposite the Terminal. Surprisingly the traffic wasn’t bad. The terminal was busy but it didn’t take us very long to get checked it and board the ship. We were greeted by some very friendly faces and a glass of champagne. We had boarded the ship around 11.45 so our cabin wasn’t quite ready yet. Seen as the Sky Observation offered some beautiful views and and the sun was shining in Southampton we decided to sit and have drink.

I’m not really a drinker so a diet coke off the standard drinks package menu was spot on for me. Wasn’t long before my stomach was grumbling so i needed to pay a visit to the Ocean View Cafe. A great choice of food up here especially if your picky like me. Anything from soups or a panini, right though to a Carvery or even an Indian. We just managed to get a table what with cabins not being ready yet and everyone boarding this is usually the first stop so plenty of seating in here.

We had an Aqua class stateroom on deck 11 cabin number 1548. Lovely spacious cabins. Nice big settee in there, decent wardrobe space with bathrobes and slippers inside. A safe (free) in the cupboard above the minibar (at a charge). Hairdryer in the drawer under the mirror. Lovely queen size bed. Generous balcony size. Complimentary amenities in the bathroom shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, cotton wool/swabs and i was surprised at the amount of little cupboard space and shelves in there so it was great overall for storage.  Amazing shower you could just have the overhead shower or you could turn the settings to include the body jets.

As Part of the Aqua Class benefits you get access to the Persian Gardens. You swap your cabin card for a card to access the Spa. Lockers, towels and bath robes are included. There’s a steam room, sauna and hot stone beds in the relaxation room. The beds did my back some good i had an ache in the bottom of my back and it shifted it for the rest of the day. There are shower facilities available here too.  On deck 11 towards the front of the ship you will find access to the Persian Gardens by a stairway along the corridor.

Also as part of the Aqua class benefits you can eat in the Blu specialty restaurant.  Serving ‘Clean Cuisine’ they are open for breakfast and dinner. We had dinner here on our last night and it was a great meal.

And yes i ate the lot. Seen as the color scheme in the restaurant was blue and white i tried the blue filter out on my camera and i think it worked a treat.

We just managed to catch the end of the show on that evening Toppers. We asked some other customers who had seen it before and they said it was a really good show worth watching.

I have more photos of the main highlights of the ship and i will compile my videos together for you as well. Check in with me from the 05th June for the next installment on the Celebrity Eclipse. Please feel free to email me on [email protected] or give me a call if you have any questions about the ship and i will do my best to answer them.
