Off on my Jollies!

Today is the start of my holidays! Myself, my other half and our little boy are off on a road trip to Scotland! Excited is an understatement, I have had this planned for a while now! Although, my other half stresses to me most days that he would have preferred to be on top deck with a frozen Mojito instead of driving to Scotland where it has been touch and go with the snowy weather in the last week! Oops!

For those of you that know me will know how much of a HUGE fan of the series Outlander! So, I have managed to talk my other half into trailing around Scotland to find the hotspots from the show! He is seriously not impressed.

Out first stop off is going to be in Cumbria, Lake District staying in one of the popular glamping pods! It’s the half way point for us so makes sense! Next, we will be staying in Falkland in Fife, this is the actual location of one of the opening scenes in Outlander. After Falkland we are driving onto Inverness where I have booked us a lovely hotel in the centre, it just happens to have the exact same staircase as Titanic. I’ll leave this as surprise for my other half till we get there, otherwise he will hide all the cameras just so I cannot re-act the famous scene from Titanic, haha!

Our next stop is Isle of Skye which I am most excited about, we have booked to stay in a Shepard’s hut for the night on Loch Eyre, some would say romantic… I am personally worried about where on earth the toilet is….

Next up is Glencoe in another glamping pod. I have always been really interested in visiting Fort William so we are going to visit there!

The last stop in Scotland is a stay at Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park before heading back half way to home, we are unsure on where we are going to stay on our last night, but we have left it to be a spontaneous surprise!
