This Winter – Live Like A Sultan!

Many of you want to get away from the awful weather in the winter but don’t want to fly as far as the Caribbean or Far East.  The Emirates area is a ideal choice as the weather is fantastic, flying time is less and (best of all for a northerner!) you can usually fly from a local airport.

MSC cruises have just announced they will be basing the Musica in it’s home port of  Dubai from the middle of December right through to the end of March.  The ship will cruise for 7 days which is ideal as you can add on a Dubai or Abu Dhabi stay before or after the cruise.  Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are very cosmopolitan, with some fantastic hotels to stay in. In Abu Dhabi you can visit Ferrari World, claimed to be the largest indoor theme park. If you like fast roller coasters you would “have” to go on the Formula Rossa which is the fastest roller coaster in the world! Lets not forget Abu Dhabi also has a history of F1 racing, so worth a visit.  Dubai, is all about shopping and taking in the sun – go down town and bag yourself a fantastic “fake” bag, wallet, watch etc etc!

For me the wonderful selling point of these cruises is the itinerary. Sailing to Khasab in Oman, known locally as the Norway of Arabia. Khasab is very close to Iran and there is a lot of produce from this country sold there.  Another interesting stop is Khor Al Fakkan, a great beach and a very sheltered area along with great culture makes this a good place to have a few hours off the ship.  The best stop for me is Muscat.  A beautiful city, capital of Oman. I actually stayed there a few years ago and really did enjoy the mixture of old and new.

Lets not forget the fantastic Musica ship with the wonderful service you can expect to receive on a MSC cruise.

I really do think these cruises are a great alternative to the other winter destinations, only a few hours more flying time then you would go to the Canaries but in my opinion better.

Why don’t you try something a little different this winter?
