Ladies – It’s A Leap Year!….

Yes ladies, 2016 is a leap year and next weekend it is Valentines day, what better time for you to propose to your better half? Once you have asked the question and of course been told yes, then you can plan your wedding and honeymoon.

Hang on! Did you know you can get married on a cruise? That would certainly help with the pennies!!

A wedding at sea really can be the ultimate in the romance stakes. You can tie the knot on a lovely island in the Caribbean  or get married in the middle of the ocean. With this in mind, I thought I would give you some “tips” on planning a wedding at sea.

Firstly, not all cruise ships offer weddings at sea, that’s where we come in by the way!

If the idea of getting married on some lovely island in the Caribbean appeals then I would suggest someone like Holland America on it’s own island called Half Moon Cay or even Disney Cruises at Castaway Bay.  Of course, you can get married in the port but do bare in mind that some of the ports are not exactly romantic, may be a bit industrial which is not going to help you in the romance stakes!

If you think a wedding at sea would be great then I would look at Azamara, Celebrity, Princess and Cunard. The latter will get the Captain to marry you, if he is free! Remember, if you want a more religious ceremony you can always get married in the port with a member of the clergy performing the ceremony.

Of course like any other wedding these things do take time to plan, depending on what you want the logistics can be tricky.  You will be allocated a wedding coordinator though who will help you in all matters. I remember many years ago booking a lovely couple who did get married on a Royal Caribbean cruise and said the event was fantastic and although it did take a lot of planning it was well worth it.

Of course a wedding at sea may not be your cup of tea, if this is the case, then do think about a honeymoon on a cruise. You can really have the most romantic time, it does not always have to be with loads of people if you know what I mean.

Lastly, let us not forget those of you who are married. Well , how about renewing your vows? Yes, you can do that too!

If this appeals, give me a call I do like a good love story!
