Kids Go Free With MSC!

Following on from my last post about MSC (which you can read here) another great feature of MSC cruising is that all children cruise free!  The only extra they have to pay for is the normal port taxes and of course if your flying to your destination, the flights. As you know I am “wowed” by  MSC and if my children were little I would without hesitation book a family holiday with them. Why? well apart from all the great features I have already spoken about, MSC have some great kids clubs.

To start with the little ones. There is a baby care facility which allows mums and dads to leave their children from 1 to under 3 years in the care of the Mini Club staff from 1300 to 1400 and 1800 to 1900.  Any nappy changing and feeding though has to be done by the parents which is only fair I think. The space has to be booked by prior reservation  and is available during the days at sea.  One of the things I like was MSC are now in partnership with Chicco, all activities supplied by this company,so the children  learn as well as enjoy.

Once a child is 3 there is another mini club the “sailors” which goes up to the age of 6 years. From 7 to 11 years the club is called the “pirates”, 12 to 14 years is the “Y team” and for the older teens from 15 to 17 years there is the “MSC generation” – very cool!

Each and every club has a family welcome talk at the start of the cruise which I think is great, mums and dads will certainly feel better knowing who the children are being looked after.

Of course with each different age group there are different activities from arts and craft, Lego bricks, movies, for the younger ones to WII/X box, teen discos, table tennis for the older ones. There is also the virtual world arcade from the ages of 13 to 17 years. When we had a look around there were a couple of boys playing on X box – sheer concentration on the faces!

So that is inside the ship, then of course there is the playgrounds for the younger children, and the pool areas which are fantastic.

Worth noting too that in the buffet restaurants there is an area which is only for the little ones, I think that is a great idea, except on occasion I did see adults trying to get served there!

As a parent we all dread the children saying they are bored. I am 100% convinced they wont be saying that to you on a MSC cruise. Every single day they can meet new friends and be involved in many activities – they will have fun, I promise!
