Happy New Year from Marbella with a sprinkle of Essex !!

Well, another year over and on a year that seemed to drag a little it seemed to fly by towards the end !! So much so I ended up doing all my Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.. never again I hear my self say, but saying and doing are completely different things. Christmas was great and I spent it with my mum and dad and my 18 yr old son Callum.

After a few days back at work after Christmas I was planning a trip away to Spain for New Year with my mum and dad and my brothers family. They have places in Cabopino and as my son is old enough to go out this year he stayed in the UK, it was my first New Year without him and I think they felt sorry for me so of course, it didn’t take a lot of persuasion to tag along.

I travelled on the 30th of December with Jet 2 who were really great to travel with and spent a couple of days eating and drinking in preparation for the New Years Eve dinner my dad had booked us at Olivia’s in Mijas La Cala. We have been there before and have never been disappointed so we were really looking forward to glamming up for our evening!!

We arrived at about 8.30pm to be greeted with a glass of champagne and walk on the red carpet! The restaurant was decorated beautifully and as always we were made to feel welcome straight away. I sat next to my 10-year-old niece Elle, (who lives quite away from me in the UK she lives in Alnwick) so she becomes my siamese twin for our trips as we don’t get to see each other too often.

We were sat next to the window to see in full view of who was arriving.. it was then that Elle (or maybe her mum Kerry!!) started to see the arrivals of some known reality stars from The Only Way Is Essex,  (Olivia’s is owned by one of the former stars Elliott Wright). Elle was a little star struck at first until I hear the words ‘Please Anty Lou can you get my picture with them all please?!’ So doing the duties only an auntie can do I walked around with her and became her budding photographer.

This last picture was me finally sitting down telling everyone to stop sending me out to beg for pics!!

I will say that, of course, a lot of the evening they were approached by other guests for pictures but they were all so friendly and the atmosphere was so amazing it was never a them and us situation. It was a perfect night.

The music was fantastic even featuring Essex’s very own ‘Arg’ singing.. after a few songs he introduced Gemma Collins to the stage and she also sang. Even though I was asked if I was the single Auntie by a lady who had watched me following Elle with my phone to take pictures it was really one of the best nights and such a memorable night with my family.

Last year we spent New Year in New York and it was -15 degrees, this year we were sunning ourselves all day on the beach in Cabopino, I wonder where I can tag along to next year!

HAPPY 2019 X
